Can my family and friends visit me anytime?  

Of course!  This is your home and you can have visitors as you like. Invite them to a meal in our dining room or schedule our private dining room for a special occasion.

 

Can I bring my belongings like furniture and other personal items?

 

Yes, apartments are unfurnished so you will want to bring anything you desire that makes your new apartment feel like home. 

 

Are pets allowed?

 

We encourage you to bring your pet.  Pets are an important part of our Appleridge family.

 

Since I don’t drive anymore, I often have to rely on others for transportation.  Is transportation provided?

 

Appleridge provides scheduled transportation for shopping, lunch outings and excursions.  Should you need it, private and personal transportation is available for appointments.

 

Is additional personal care available if I need it?

 

Residents may obtain at any time, home health care services of their choice.

 

What if I become ill in my apartment, how will I get help?

 

Appleridge provides every resident, free of charge, with a PERS (Personal Emergency Response System) pendant. The pendant can be worn around your neck and a button pressed should you need emergency help. Our security department will come to assist you. Also standard at Appleridge are call buttons in every bathroom as well as a motion detector system.

 

Are utilities included?

 

Heat, A/C, electricity, water, sewer, garbage, phone, cable and WiFi/Internet are included in your monthly rent.

 

Is there a “Buy In” to live in the community?

 

Appleridge does not require a large buy-in. A one-time entry fee is all that is required.

 

I feel I don’t need housekeeping services right now.  Can I add this option if I change my mind ?

 

Yes, housekeeping, dining and other services are all optional depending on the rental plan you choose.  You may add any additional ancillary services at any time.

 

I am diabetic. Can I request a low-sugar/low-carb diet?

 

Our chef will be happy to suggest specific diet menu options upon request.

 

My spouse has Alzheimer’s. If his condition worsens and he needs to be transferred to a higher level of care, will I have the option of staying at Appleridge?

 

Certainly. Your lease can be amended to reflect single occupancy and should you desire, depending on availability, you may move to a smaller apartment.

 

If I have to go to the hospital, will someone notify my family?

 

Yes, a designated personnel will attempt to contact a member of your family to let them know where you have been taken.

 

I love to exercise with the Wii game system. Are there scheduled activity programs like this at Appleridge?

 

The full-time Director of Recreation & Wellness coordinates and plans activities for the entire month for residents such as Wii, exercise, bingo, entertainment, games, and happy hour.  We welcome any activity suggestions.

 

Can my family and friends participate in the activities and events at Appleridge?

 

Absolutely!  Appleridge is a family oriented community.  We encourage your friends and family to join in whenever possible, depending on availability.
